alarm!

this weekend I went to Melbourne and visited my sister again, we didn't have plans to do anything exciting, but I felt like dressing up anyway, so I wore my new high heels and red lipstick. This was the first time I had worn the heels (which match my handbag perfectly) and by the end of the day my feet were in agony :(

whilst in Melbourne my sister and I looked at some op-shops and bookstores, but sadly neither of us bought anything. It was still fun though and we went back to her house and listened to music and ate cheese balls.

Student free day

even though today is Monday there is no school for some reason or another, but instead of putting my long weekend to socializing use I have just been lounging around home and catching up on homework. Today I have work though which requires me to dress in something other than Pajamas. this is what I came up with...

it's not the greatest photo with the light coming in from the window, but i kind of like it and you can still get the general idea of the outfit, black coat, black socks, pink dress.

this one is more clear but you can't really see the knee high socks which are my favorite part of the outfit, the pink dress isn't one I normally wear, but lately I've been really into the color pink.

an alien in the world of fashion blogs

Well maybe not quite an alien...for a while now I have been obsessed with various fashion blogs which I read religiously, and I have always been obsessed with fashion.
My name is Giacobba and I'm a 16 year old high school girl from a town near Melbourne, Australia called Kyneton or K-Town for short, I devour books and magazines at an alarming rate and I draw and sew and write and now I officially blog too!
Though my blog there's no such place as face is mostly going to be fashion orientated I will also post things about art and music and films as well as the clothes that I buy and wear or covet and dream about. I love all kinds of fashion styles from grunge to indie and vintage to designer (even though I can't really afford designer clothes) but I can't say that I have one particular style myself, however my style philosophy is to always overdress and experiment and play dress-up with your clothes and feel confident in what you wear.

This is what I wore today when I went to Melbourne to visit my older sister, it was the first time I wore this dress and my sister described it as "faded" and "80's", naturally I took this as a compliment. Purple is a colour that I tend to favour when picking my outfits and apparently I favour florals too because I realized this morning that I have about five other floral dresses and a couple of floral tops and skirts as well, so the dress being pale purple and floral, was a perfect choice.

I teamed the dress with some pearls and a new pair of black paisley tights - which you can sort of make out in the picture - and a warm black jacket because it is after all still cold and winter-y in Melbourne even though the sun was out all day.
